Laboratory of Natural Products

Created in 2012, the LPN's mission is: “Research aimed at the use of natural resources”. It has as objectives and lines of research: evaluation of biological and pharmacological activities of natural products, the relationship with the study of medicinal plants, studies related to honey, pollen and propolis, structural characterization and elucidation of active principles and also use of residues organic. Along with the research and studies carried out, it also acts in the development of new products and / or technological processes. 

The LPN serves doctoral, master's and scientific initiation students and supports professors from the Unimontes Undergraduate and Graduate Courses. 

It also develops projects in partnership with other Higher Education Institutions, with Companies, Associations and Cooperatives.

We develop academic works on medicinal plants, the honey chain, with participation in Science Fairs, production of open access bibliographic material, such as Technical Manuals or as the 3 volumes of the Minha Horta Medicinal Manuals and the Photo Contest “Um olhar sobre as plantas” (“A look at the plants ”) This in its first edition now in 2020.
